The intimate and personal act of creation gives rise to the sculptural imagination, where it takes on corporeality in matter. First on the surface and inwards, as it is from this depth that the new form begins to be born, always leaving traces, imprints of imagination, traces and facets of his sculpture that will never be erased. The Mexican artist has approached his self-reflected and schematic undulating figuration with the awareness that not only does it decorate, but that it can also construct the space in which it is erected. Artist: Carlos Monje Born in Culiacán (Mexico) in 1947, Carlos Monje studied at the Faculty of Philosophy and at the Central University of Cinema Studies at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. This Mexican sculptor has had 50 national and international solo exhibitions and has participated in 40 international sculpture symposiums. His creations can be found in many American and European countries, such as Italy, Argentina, Finland, Chile and Germany as well as in his native country. He has also received important awards such as the Ville de Quebec (Canada), the Mention of Honour Santo Candido (Italy) and the Lilly Rasseto Award (Argentina).
